Laura Christie was Active Africa’s first guide and has been a regular fixture on our trips since 2015. Her interest in tourism started with experience in lodge operations with some of Africa’s premier safari operators. When she moved back to Cape Town, Laura gained her guide qualifications and led many of Active Africa’s multi-day walking and biking trips until a yearning for the bush took her back there in 2018, where she gained experience as a trails guide.
Sarah Nurse is an experienced trails guide, leading walking safaris in remote parts of the Kruger National Park. Her love for the outdoors and wildlife took her to the Scottish highlands on a rewilding project before returning to South Africa to complete an advanced field guide course. Sarah’s love for the bush and walking in particular, has taken her to exciting destinations in Namibia, South Africa and the Republic of the Congo.
Based in Hoedspruit, Laura and Sarah now manage and operate our walking safaris and hikes in the Kruger region, with an emphasis on wilderness bush walking.
